13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher

There are really hard things happening in this world everywhere, even in books. The book, "13 Reasons Why" by Jay Asher, is one of the books that people wanted to ban. There are social issues happening in the text, for example suicide and sexual content. Those issues happens in the real world, and influences people to do unnecessary actions that causes trouble or harm.

Drinking and raping are social issues happening in the book. Drinking may cause someone to be drunk, making it possible for someone to do or get involved in crazy things. In the book, a girl got drunk while in a party, and was unconscious. A boy was helping, or it seems like it, until he started to lead her into an empty room. The girl got raped, and her life would've been ruined because of that. Drinking is a common issue, which mostly occurs in parties and bars. Raping isn't a common issue, although it does happen in this world. Also, bullying and suicide are social issues happening, mostly to teenagers. When someone gets bullied and had enough of it, it's a possibility that suicide could happen. For example, Hannah Baker suicide because of people bullying her in many ways. It got to a point where she couldn't take it anymore, leading to suicide. People wanted to ban this book because of hard content, that may influence teenagers to involve in socials issues.

Social issues could cause major problems, and you never know when that will happen. Hannah Baker had been bullied in many ways, just like other people in this world. This book has many connections to this world on social issues.
